Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Be welcomed by the assigned driver guide who will take you through a briefing about the tour. Volcanoes national park is one of the most renowned national parks in Rwanda and Africa at large where people can trek mountain gorillas in their habitat. A road trip takes about 3 hours and then check-in at the booked hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and visit Ibyiwacu cultural center or Twin lakes.
Begin the day with breakfast and then drive to park headquarters for briefing, an important moment since you will get to know more about the information concerned about gorillas, you will also go through the dos and don'ts. Among these are don't feed animals, don't litter the park premises, keep a distance and many more others. Trekking will take about 2 to 6 hours, including one hour in the presence of gorillas and taking interesting photos. Gorilla trekking tour is rewarding since you will follow a given family of gorillas and learn its movements, communication and others. In the afternoon, you will take on any optional activity - either to visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village where you get entertained about Rwandan culture, through traditional music and dances, visiting the traditional healer, tasting local meals and more. Another option is to visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo where you will take a boat cruise on one of the lakes which will offer you the best history of these lakes and entire Virunga region.
Day 3: Depart to Kigali and end of tour.
Depart to Kigali city after breakfast and later undertake a short city tour where you will be able to visit Kigali genocide memorial site in the heart of Kigali, Kimironko market and other important historical sites in Kigali. You will then head to the airport, marking the end of your 3 days Volcanoes NP gorilla trek.
