Overview
This 5 days of gorillas and wildlife in Uganda will take you to two national parks Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi impenetrable national Park. On this safari, you will have a high chance of spotting the Savannah animals such as African elephants, and baboons and have a look at the rare tree-climbing lions which inhabit the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The Safari will also enable you to have a chance of seeing the endangered mountain gorillas that inhabitants the tropical forests of Bwindi impenetrable National park. This is not the only thing to watch in Bwindi impenetrable National park you will also visit the Batwa community for an experience and after you will drive to Kampala and fly back home.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Be picked up immediately after arriving at the airport by your driver guide who will quickly give you a short briefing about the Safari. The briefing will mainly focus on the guidelines to follow on this safari. After the briefing, you will drive heading to Queen Elizabeth National Park having a stopover in fort Portal city from where you have your lunch and after continue with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park a journey taking 7-8 hours to your lodge and then relax as you are waiting for your dinner
Day 2: morning game drive and evening launch cruise
On this second day of your Safari, you will wake up early in the morning and be served breakfast at your lodge, and then drive to the park for your morning game drive where you will have high chances of spotting the Park's main attraction, the rare tree climbing lions lazily hanging in the tree branches, African elephants, baboons, giraffes in the Kasenyi plains. Embark at your lodge for your lunch.
In the evening you will prepare yourself and drive to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise which will provide you with the most relaxing view of the wildlife in the park. You will have a chance of spotting some water animals like the hippos, crocodiles lying in the water, some water birds and other land animals which come to drink water at the river.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national Park
Enjoy your morning breakfast at your lodge and then drive heading to Bwindi impenetrable National passing via Ishasha sector a journey taking 1-2 hours’ drive directly to Buhoma sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is known for homing almost half of the world's mountain gorillas one of the closest relatives of man after the chimpanzees and the bonobos sharing 98% DNA with that of man. Bwindi forest park is also known for having 310 butterflies, 88 months, 200 tree species, 51 reptiles and 120 mammals. Drive to your lodge for your meals and accommodation.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience
This is the day that you have been waiting for. Begin it by having your breakfast at your lodge and after drive to the park headquarters where you will be issued a permit and be briefed by the park officials and head to the park to start looking for these endangered species. The activity usually takes 1-8 hours depending on the location of these animals.
Since these primates reside high in the mountains, visitors are always advised to come with their hiking equipment such as hiking shoes/gumboots and enough drinking water which will help you in case of thirsty and immediately after reaching on them you will be given an extra of one hour in their presence as you are taking photos and videos. Drive back to the lodge for your lunch.
In the evening, drive to the community where a local Twa guide will lead you on a Batwa cultural experience and take a look at some Batwa culture experiences such as music, dance, drama and art will make your safari super interesting. Retreat to your lodge for dinner and night stays.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala and fly back home
Being the last day of your safari, begin it with a morning breakfast and cup of tea after which you will drive heading to Kampala which is the capital city of Uganda and be dropped off at any of the hotels in the city for refreshments and after drive to Entebbe international airport and fly back home.
